This is irreversible and final - WHMCS pricing is increasing on 01 July 2021 and this is Huge.

Here is a screenshot of the old WHMCS pricing and it was very simple and cost-effective:

And here is the new one:

the first price comparison of the 3 cheapest plans is only partly complete:

new whmcs pricing - 3 basic plans

.. and we need to go deeper:

whmcs business license pricing

----

----

Let us compare prices:

number of Users / Clients  February 2021 July 2021
0 - 250 $18.95/month $18.95/month
251 - 500   $29.95/month
251 - 1000 $29.95/month
501 - 1000   $44.95/month
1001 - 2500   $99.95/month
2501 - 5000   $174.95/month
5001 - 1000   $299.95/month
Unlimited $39.95/month Note: ROUMERS >> $1299.95/month

--

As for us, we have 3.3thousand members of whom 600+ are inactive, and our plan is the Unlimited one, and that means for us to get the same plan it would cost us $1299.95 + VAT every month.

What about us? We are staying with WHMCS. .. at least at the moment.

We will be exploring alternatives, especially as we are moving the Registrar route (we want to become an accreditated registrar for most European and some other country registries). And in the domain niche, where the margins are much lower than in hosting business - every number is important.

--

The reaction in the hosting world (mostly among rather small hosting companies that had Unlimited $40/month licenses) is rather negative and many of them already say that they will be moving away to a different product, especially as WHMCS users have to buy quite a lot of 3rd party modules in order to make WHMCS to work.

Ok, it is what it is. One thing is sure - now younger client-hungry companies will twink twice before launching $1 or free trial offers for new clients.

First were cPanel with their absolutely crazy pricing increase, now we have WHMCS (still bearable for most hosting companies). What company will be next?

The good news are, and it is always good to finish a story with a good story that gives hope, there are few things said about better support staff (up to this moment WHMCS users had to rely mostly on the community member support at the WHMCS forum or many other forums).

Best wishes,

HostMaria team
